Crispin Gurholt: Live Photo A Brief History of the Modern World

Gurholt is renowned for his Live Photos, site-specific photography projects that challenge the boundaries between fiction and reality. His complex, staged scenes are strongly imbued with art historical, philosophical and sociological references. In his performances, subtle narratives slowly emerge that balance a fine line between fantasy and reality. This exhibition is the largest museum exhibition to date of Crispin Gurholt’s work, and featured a selection of his Live Photo projects extending over a ten year period, in addition to Live Photo # 18, Ullevål, and a Live Photo performance at the museum. Accompanied by a Skira publication with texts by Anders Eiebakke, Lorella Scacco and Selene Wendt.
